My Story

From Burned Out Engineer to Performance Leader

I'm Ivan, and for most of my career, I was living a lie.

On paper, everything looked great: 15+ years leading engineering teams at Fortune 500 companies like Samsung, Panasonic, Pampers, HiPP, and Huggies. Shipping products, hitting deadlines, climbing the ladder.

But behind the scenes I was a mess...

Already in my 20s, I was overweight, mentally foggy, and running on caffeine and willpower. I told myself the same thing you probably tell yourself: "I'll fix this after this project" or "once things calm down at work."

They never did.

I watched colleagues with less technical skill get promoted faster. I felt invisible in leadership meetings despite being the most qualified person in the room. I'd crush a production incident at 2 AM, then spend the next day in a brain fog I couldn't shake.

I was stuck in a brutal cycle: sacrificing my body for my career, only to watch my career suffer because of my deteriorating body.

Then at about age 30, I hit a breaking point.

I made a decision: no more excuses. I was going to solve this problem the same way I solve engineering problems—systematically, methodically, and permanently.

It took me 10 years of trial, error, and relentless iteration to crack the code. Along the way, I became a Certified International Personal Trainer & Nutrition Adviser—not to change careers, but to deeply understand what actually works under the pressure of a demanding tech leadership role.

Most engineers optimize everything except themselves. They'll refactor legacy code for weeks but won't invest 15 minutes on their own physical infrastructure.

That's backwards.
